Triple Challenge

So here we are with a card that is a triple challenge from Splitcoaststampers. It was a sketch challenge, a way to use it challenge and a technique lovers challenge. I used reinkers to color the image, then assembled it in the 9-square sketch challenge and used a bird for the ways to use it challenge.
This sadly is for a friend who lost her husband last week to mad cow disease. The chances of that happening are 1 in a million, if you can believe that. Not even sure how he got it. 6 weeks after he was diagnosed, he was gone.
A month ago this man's father died of cancer, so the family is dealing with a lot right now.

My DS is having fun going to a summer camp at a vocational school where he's working with a CAD (computer aided design) computer to make his own dragster. He designed it, drew it on the computer, cut it out of styrofoam, then wood. Tomorrow he and his classmates will have elimination races to see whose CO2 car will be the fastest. We get to watch the happenings so I'll be sure to get pictures of him to post.
We're on summer vacation now and it's been a mix of activity, rest, and work around here. This is our big reading time since we don't have school. I'm also trying to go through things and weed out the unused things or things that have been around for a while and need to be tossed out. Do you ever have times where things are very important to keep, then a year or so later they don't seem so important? That's what we're going through. We've been in our home 8 years now and we've decided if we brought it here and haven't used it, we probably won't use it, so it's going out. Wish me luck as I go through each room this way. Sounds scary doesn't it?
Thanks for visiting. Have a wonderfully blessed day.

Just beautiful - the coloring on the image, everything.

I know what you mean about 'stuff'. Lately, I have been recycling 25 years of magazines. I must have at least 12 issues x 6 subscriptions x 25 years worth - you do the math. One day a light came on in my head and I 'saw' that I no longer needed my house to be a museum, so I'm weeding out everything that is not sentimental to me (or cannot be used in cardmaking - hee hee).

Wow! That's crazy about the MCD. How very sad for the family. Your card is beautiful though. I love the nine-square background. I might have to case that idea!
