Faux Tile and Sailboats

Today was a very busy day. DD went to Vacation Bible School with a friend. DS and I went to the post office with two boxes to be mailed. Luckily we had them prepaid and ready to ship, so we just had to walk in and put them on the counter.
Grocery shopping was next which took a lot longer than usual since DH is eating healthier and is changing some of the things he eats, so we have to hunt for things and compare labels on packages.
After putting groceries away, and DS eats his doughnut from the store, we start to work on taking the wallpaper off his wall. We did a small wall today but what a lot of work. Once we used a special tool to put holes in the wallpaper, we sprayed a paper remover. It worked pretty well.
My family has a tradition in the summer. We watch the homerun derby. We pick who we think will win. Tonight I chose Justin Morneau and he won! The winner in our house gets a week of pampering and treats. The second place winner which was my DS gets a pampered weekend. I can't wait to see what we've won. My DH said he hasn't decided what our prizes will consist of.

This is for TLC177 where you had to make grid lines on your card. I did diagonal lines every half inch for this card. The sky is colored with a copic marker. The water was colored with copic marker, stamped in brocade blue with the waves stamp, then sponged. The boat was watercolored with apricot, pumpkin and rust ink in the lids of inkpads with an aquapainter. The cardstock is apricot with mesh stamp. The boat was cut down the sides with dimensionals underneath to lift it up. I'm not sure you can see this in the picture, but it looks pretty cool in real life.
Blogger wouldn't let me upload the photo so I'm a day late publishing this.
My MIL's surgery went very well. She is in ICU through tomorrow. Dad can only see her for 10 minutes at a time. That's probably best since she'll most likely be in some pain. Thank you for all the prayers for her. Please continue them if you would.

Congratulations on winning the Homerun Derby! I really thought Josh Hamilton was going to take it, but I'm glad Justin won it in the end.

Hope your pampering consists of dinner and a clean house. I would love that.
