So Long Ago..............It Seems

Wow, where has the time gone since I wrote here? I've been so busy with work that's it's been impossible to do some of the things I was used to doing daily. Seems like my days are filled with stressful times of starting a new school year. I had a new student arrive Friday at 8:50 that no one knew would be there! How's that when school starts at 9 a.m.? I say that made for a stressful day.
I had one of those Murphy's Laws kind of days where it seemed like every thing that could go wrong did go wrong.
At lunch I was reaching for my LAST carrot and glanced into the bag and saw a two-inch bug with lots of legs lying there dead............one of his legs was on the last carrot stick! Can you saw EEEEWWWWWW! I almost lost my lunch! I so wanted to go home!
God got me through all of the rough patches Friday.
I did get to stamp a little Saturday.
Friday night I had Card Ministry and we had a nice showing to make these cards. Let me know what you think.
This is a card made for Moms Uplifting Moms at our church. They wanted cards to send to a new mom that would ask the mom to contact them so they could bring a meal. The bg is cuttlebug the image is colored with markers and dabbed with a sponge around the edge. The circle was cut out with a circle punch. The word baby is actually on the inside of the card.

This is for LSC185 where you were to do a technique and keep your card simple. This card was made by using markers to color the rubber, then huffing and stamping onto white cardstock. Direct to paper technique was also done on the edges. The paper at the bottom was cut with the border punch. The gal doing this card had a fun time huffing. It seemed like every time the noise level died down, you could hear her huffing!

This card was done with a cool stamp I got in a donation to our Card Ministry. I used a varigated fall ink pad and brayered the ink onto the stamp. Then I stamped the leaves using saffron and the words were stamped in rust. I added pumpkin ribbon and that's that. I was inspired by IC145 and that beautiful catalog!
Pretty easy card to make for Card Ministry but seems to be really striking.

This is for LSC185 where you had to do a technique card and keep it simple. This was a bleeding heart stamp that I stamped with versamark then embossed with black ep. It was colored with markers. The background is direct to paper using pink pirouette on bashful blue. Bleeding hearts are one of my favorite flowers from my childhood. As a child they fascinated me that God would make teeny tiny hearts and display them in a garden. They were kid-sized flowers!

This is for LSC185 getting back to basics with highlighting a technique and a simple card. This is my bleeding heart flowers which were stamped with versamark then embossed with black ep then watercolored with my blender pen and ink from the lid of an ink pad. I also added a brad with Rose Cottage paper and a small heart stamped in it. This is a stamp that was donated to our Card Ministry.

This is a box I made from one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" card stock. I used celery and stamped using pixie pink, artichoke, turquoise inks and the set Always. I added scalloped strips of petals and paisley's a retired SU paper. The bird was stamped three times and layered on dimesionals.

This is the beautiful background that Lynn used as a challenge today called Embossed Shimmer. TLC185
I can see why you love this technique Lynn. I used bashful blue, baja blue and ballet blue for my reinkers. The cardinal is watercolored with my wwc and aqua painter. 4 eyelets to make the cardinal stay on the acetate and silver cord to frame the cardinal.

I used Cambria's tutorial for making this cute holder of 3x3 cards and envys. Check it out here:http://cambriaturnbow.blogspot.com/2...-tutorial.html
I used my Sizzix large scallop circle for the base. I also wanted a pomegranate envy so I brayered my white envelope then dried it with my heat tool. The flower is from the pretties kit. I put it on the pomegranate ink pad and pushed each petal down with my tweezers. I dried it with my heat tool as well. The handle ribbon is bashful blue and I used the pomegranate ribbon behind the flower.

I continue to pray for the lives that Ike has touched. We got a small taste of it here in Ohio, but nothing like what was seen in the south. I am truly thankful for where we live. We need to sometimes worry about lake effect snow, but that's about it for bad weather.
We have some areas still without power, but we have power and never lost it in my part of town.
Well, off to stamp. :-)
Thanks for stopping by. I'll try to write again soon!
Blessings,
