Mom and How Good God Is

Today we got the information that Mom had a stroke. A clot probably from her last surgery caused a stroke. Mom can't talk and is sometimes ok but most times not. She doesn't know what's happened and keeps asking Dad why she has to be here. Poor guy he's so sad with these events because they were so unexpected. He and mom have been married 60 some years. Mom's 80th birthday is tomorrow. God was so good to her! My nephew was moving to Florida and wouldn't be here for her birthday, so we had her birthday two weeks ago. She was so thrilled to have her family all around her. Thank you God for allowing us to celebrate her special day. Most likely tomorrow she will be moved to a very nice facility in Solon that is only 10 minutes from their house.  She will begin rehab and if needed she can be moved to the nursing home section.  Dad won't have far to go to visit. He is struggling with being at home alone.......just not the same ya know?

 I was able to do some cards. So here they are.
The first card is for today's free for all on SCS where you had to make a card with inch or two inch squares somewhere on it.  So I made a pinwheel quilt with the new SU paper called Summer Smooches.

This card was made using designer paper and my MS wide border punch.  The image was colored with markers.

This was one of the cards we will make tonight at card ministry.

Today was a tough day with the new about my MIL and I had a difficult teen here.  Sometimes girls can be so dramatic.  I'll be happy when we get through this stage of life!  I remember different ages telling Tim that is was just a stage, as soon as we'd get used to it, it would change and we'd be dealing with something else. LOL
