Sad, Rainy Day of Reflection and Blessings From Friends and God

I have been home today because I thought after the emotional evening last night I'd need a day to just crash and do nothing. That's what I did. I got a few things done but with the rain and my feelings, I just didn't feel like doing much. I guess that's a normal feeling after someone close dies. Ya know I hear so many jokes and stories about in-laws, but I've been blessed with wonderful in-laws. In fact I saw my MIL more than I see my own mom. That's another story for another day. Mom did 'the mom' things in the family as usual. She'd remember the birthdays with cards, gifts and greetings on the phone. She'd remember Mother's Day and bring flowers or some sort of gift with a card. She was just that way ya know? There was a love and caring from her that was wonderful. I've been her daughter-in-law for 18 years and I was accepted as one of her own daughters, just about. I heard that when we were first married she wondered if we'd last since Tim's other marriage didn't last. However, we showed all the doubting Thomas' that we were meant to be. She wasn't a saint by any means. She had her way of setting people off with her comments or behavior, but we all can do that can't we? Today it became more clear to me what I'd miss. It's all part of the grieving process. Today I played in the ways to use it challenge on SCS and we had to make a monochromatic card. Here's my favorite color, razzleberry with white.
I also made a card for the Teaparty Tuesday challenge.  We had to make a card that had something to do with  tattoos.  Check out the sistahs I found to color!  LOL  The one is asking the other all sorts of questions about her tattoo on her knee.  Maybe she'll get one too.
Today I received two more envelopes of cards for Summit Point.  I can't believe how many the ladies have donated so far.  At last count there have been 186 cards donated!  Isn't that amazing?
Here are the two sets I received today.  The first one is from BeeHappy in Hawaii.
The second group of cards is from Maggie here in Ohio.  Thank you ladies for your generous donation of cards for the residents at Summit Point.  May God richly bless you for your love and caring.
I have to share how I've been blessed by fellow stampers.  Here are some cards from precious ladies in my life.  This sign says it all.....

Thank you Hope for your beautiful card.  Many layers doesn't seem like you but this is beautiful my friend.
Jan K. your card does show how much you care.  We've become friends over the last year and I enjoy my time with you.
Jan M. You and I go way back to high school....I'm so glad God brought us together  several years ago.  We've been good for each other.
Patti, this is so striking.  You and I have worked together for so long, I pray that continues next year.  Bless you my friend.  You make work great to come to each day.
Rose, your card reminded me of the hope of spring and the continuation of life.  Life goes on and we're hugged and held by others along the way.  Thank you for your continued love with cards. So much from a lady I've never met, but who is part of the sisters I know! LOL
Here is my dear friend Val's card.  This is one of my favorite stamps.  Val and I go back 7 years.  She was my SU upline and we go back farther as our two 17 yr. olds went to kindergarten together!

God you've blessed me with a day of rest.  A day to just do nothing but reflect and do what I needed to do.
I am forever yours and love how you comfort me.  Thank you Father, for all you've done to bring me and  my family through this difficult time.  May God bless you as you go through your days ahead.
