Today was a day off for Tim and I. We spent time with his dad along with the kids. Today dad turned 84, what a blessing. He says he never thought he'd make it this long. We had a wonderful meal at the Dolphin restaurant in Northfield, and it was delicious! My FIL talks a lot which is fun to see. We didn't see that when Mom was alive. She's the one who did most of the talking. Now we see what he has to say. God love him, he's getting along pretty well with all the things that have to be done after the death of a loved one. All of the kids are helping him do different things so he doesn't have to try to do it on his own. Here are some cards I made recently. Here is a picture of Dad during the meeting time at the funeral home a few weeks ago. So glad we could celebrate with him. I couldn't imagine him spending it alone.
Isn't this Riley with the basketball cute? Love this little guy.
This is a card I made for Featured Stamper Sunday Challenge on SCS. You choose a card from the person's gallery and do something similar. You have to change at least 2 things.
This is a card that I made for another technique challenge on SCS. You had to distress your card. I distressed the edges of the bashful blue. Then I rolled them in a bit. I needed a masculine card.
I don't know the name of this stamp because I borrowed it from Jane and stamped some to bring home. I stamped it in black then traced the furniture in silver gel pen. The image was colored with ink and blender pens.
This card was made for today's challenge on SCS. You were to do paper piecing. The vase is stamped on designer paper and cut out. Then I designed the rest of the card around it.
Today has been cloudy and now it's thundering and raining. I'm so glad the weather didn't interfere with our drive across town to take dad to dinner. Thank you God that we could do this for him.Blessings and thanks for visiting.
