Then we each experimented with how to finish. I added red stickles to the ribbon and added berries. The greeting was added in the center using a stamp-a-ma-jig. We made several of these and some we pierced the scallops and sponged the edges of the scallops. We also played around with embossing the background.
I played around with the Joyful Christmas stamp set from Stampin' Up. I wanted to see what it would look like in silver and gold. I stamped in versamark 4 flowers then added gold to 2 and silver to 2. I heat embossed them then cut out the center group of flowers and added them to the large group. In the silver flower I added a gorgeous rhinestone center from SU. I used the diagonal stripes embossing folder from SU. I haven't decided what greeting I want for this. I have to pick just the right font for Merry Christmas.
For the gold card center I added yellow stickles. I used a holly background for the gold card.
This is a card I finished Monday Morning for the New Technique challenge on Splitcoast. I used two of my circle nestabilities and made a wreath then used the negatives to stencil through. I stamped the pine needles from Watercolor Winter to stamp the wreath. Next I added the bow, sponged the edges in red and embossed the background with the holly embossing folder. I stamped Merry Christmas from Our Daily Bread's Cardinal Ornament and used my large oval punch to add the greeting. The last thing I did was add red stickles for berries. That's how I built my wreath for today's challenge.
Here's a new song from Mercy Me called Shake. I needed this today to get up and moving. Hope it helps you too.
Hope today is a better day than yesterday. It was a long, depressing day. The weather was dismal and I just felt like sleeping all day.....Joy comes in the morning. Nothing seems as bad during the day. I have to start using Sarah's Happy Light. It's made to help with the winter season when it gets dark so soon.
Blessing of the Day:Friends were praying for me.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
