Tomorrow will be my first day volunteering all day. I was informed of some needs and asked if I could help. Quicker than I could blink an eye, I was in the principal's office talking to him about helping out kids that are falling behind.
I've always taught our kids that if God brings a need that you can fill, do it. How could I not help out. I felt this incredible tug on my heart when I heard how many kids needed help. The title I teacher is only there 2 days a week. My friend at that school told me to pray about it. Well, I did and I got the same answer. I will help out through the end of the year then see if I want to do it again next year.
Had a great visit with Val tonight. I met her 9 years ago when I started with Stampin' Up. She was my upline. We've been sisters ever since we met. God was so good to not only bring me a talented upline, but one that was Christian too!
She brought a few projects to work on. She gives cards to her sisters for gifts and he also is beginning to sell cards on the internet. Here are two cards we made tonight and one she gave me as a thank you for her birthday gift.
This is the thank you card I got from her. She loves purple and green, can you tell?
Here are several cards I made. I wanted to use my designer paper. This is the Watercolor Wonder paper from Stampin' Up. It's so pretty I didn't have to add much to it.
I've been playing with Val's stamp set. Here are two cards I came up with. This is using tangerine ink and Sweet Sorbet designer paper.
This card is a technique card called, paper piecing. You stamp once on the cardstock, and once on the designer paper. You cut out the designer paper and glue it to the cardstock.
This is what I came up with for today's sketch challenge on SCS. I love doing these challenges as it stretches my learning. On this card I used stickles for the center of the flower. I also put place pearls on the card in a way I typically wouldn't. They were part of the sketch. This helps me grow in my abilities to design cards.
In This Together is a great song with a great beat. Take a listen and look at the words too. It's comforting to know I'm not alone in all of this. Enjoy it.
Thank you for stopping by.
Blessings,
