It's Been a Whirlwind

Since I last wrote, I've been very busy.  Thursday and Friday I volunteered the whole day.  Boy was I tired! I felt like I did my first week of school.  I was afraid to sit down for fear of falling asleep.

Here is the card I made with my new toys from Stampin' Up. My Stampin' Up order arrived Friday.  Can you image how I felt knowing my new stamping things and the NEW catalogs were just sitting and waiting for me at home?
I used their new alcohol markers called SU Blendabilities.  The background paper is called Tangelo Twist and the ribbon is new and called Hello Honey.
Stampin' Up has released half of their Blendabilities and will release the rest June 2nd when the new catalog goes live.  Can't wait to use these markers again real soon.
Today I spent time with Jan and Jane stamping at Jane's house.  We each were to bring a card for the others to make.  This was Jan's card which we absolutely loved!  These ladies are a real hoot!
This was the card Jane had us make.  We used distressed stain from Tim Holtz.  Then we added the honey ribbon which matched beautifully with the yellow stain.

This was posted on FB tonight and I loved seeing it.  It was from the 70's.  I began working at McDonalds in 1971.  I was the first female employee at the 6421 Pearl Road store in Parma Heights, OH.  McDonalds was at the end of our street so we walked to work each day.  I remember marking orders on printed order pads where you actually had to add without a cash register and give change without a cash register as well.  I was promoted to an assistant manager in charge of training.  It was interesting to work with 16 year olds who didn't know how to make change..........Thanks for the memories.

Today we received a true blessing.  We went to meet the guy we asked to quote us a price on railings for our front steps.  When he gave us the estimate for the railings it was way too high.  He called us and asked us to come in this morning. He had a different product that was less expensive than the original railings. He said he'd only charge us for the actual materials in trade for Tim's expertise with servers, computers etc.  Praise God we will get the new railings!  God is so good.  We never, ever expected this!

Blessing of the Day: Fred's railing proposal and stamping with Jane and Jan.
Thank you for stopping by.
Blessings,
