Yesterday I saw and oriole in my bird feeder! I was just like a kid. I've never seen an oriole in our yard in all of the years we've lived here. I tried to get a picture, but it flew away. This event brought back a vivid memory I have from grade school. In first or second grade we colored a bird book. Each day we learned about a different bird, then colored it in our bird book. Do you remember coloring things in school? First you outlined the image, then you colored in the lines and you had to color dark enough for it to look amazing!
Thanks God for allowing me to see this beautiful creature of your creation.
I've had fun creating cards today. The first two were for today's color challenge using pool party, white and black. The first card I colored with my aqua painter and ink from the lid of an ink pad.
This card was made by taping an oval die to white cardstock then sponging pool party inside the ring. This is called a negative mask. Then I added the pearls and the small flower with a pearl. I tried to put the sentiment straight, but it looked bad, so I tilted it.
This was made for the Teapotter's Challenge on SCS. It is for a woman named Betty who is going through a difficult time right now. I don't know her personally but love to make cards for people with a need. I tuck some encouraging words inside with a Bible verse.
Here is a photo of all of the cards I made with images I stamped at Janes, except for the cactus scene. I love how they turned out. These will be used for sending to SCS ladies for birthdays. I am on the Birthday Random Act of Kindness team. We are assigned 3-4 woman to send cards to each month. Then we can send cards to other team members during their birthday month. It's amazing how quickly these go.I like the title of this song by Need To Breathe. It's called Difference Maker. We're all here to make a difference. I want to make a difference for those around me. I want the world to be a better place because I was here doing what God wants me to do. I want to be all used up when I die. It is amazing that I get far more back than I give when I'm a difference maker.
When I was alone after my divorce, I found that the only thing that helped me rise from the depths of depression was helping others. The key was to turn my energy from me to others. Doing that really changed my life. Living for God and others is a true joy and a blessing.
"Difference Maker"
Yeah, isn't it amazing how a man can find himself alone
Call into the darkness for an answer that's he's never known
Yeah, isn't it amazing how God can take a broken man
Yeah, let him find a fortune, let him ruin it with his own two hands
And he climbs on up the hill on the rock on which he stands
He looks back at the crowd
He looks down at his hands and he says
I am a difference maker
Oh, I am the difference maker
Oh, I am the only one who speaks to him
And I am the friendliest of friends of God
Yeah, isn't it amazing how a man can find himself alone
Call into the darkness for an answer that's he's never known
Yeah, isn't it amazing how God can take a broken man
Yeah, let him find a fortune, let him ruin it with his own two hands
He walks on up the hill to the rock on which he stands
He looks back at the crowd
He looks down at his hands and he says
I am a difference maker
Oh, I am the difference maker
Oh, I am the only one that speaks to him
And I am the friendliest of friends of God
I am on the fence about nearly everything I've seen
And I have felt the fire be put out by too much gasoline
And we're all strangers passing through a place and time afternoon
Life is but a vision in a window that we're peeking through
A helpless conversation with a man who says he cares a lot
It's a passive confrontation about who might throw a punch or not
We are all transgressors, we're all sinners, we're all astronauts
So if you're beating death then raise your hand but shut up if you're not
'Cause I am the difference maker
Oh, I am the only one that speaks to him
And I am the friendliest of friends of God
I am the difference maker
Oh, I am the only one that speaks to him
And I am the friendliest of friends of God
I am the difference maker
Oh, I am the only one that speaks to him

Blessing of the Day: Bible Study with Chuck and Maryanne. Tonight we had a great time laughing and telling stories about vacation and life in general. It's been over 3 weeks since we've seen each other so we had a lot to share. Chuck was in rare form and had us in stitches most of the time. They are a wonderful couple that we've been so grateful to share our lives with.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Blessings,
