It's Not About Picnics, A Day Off, Or Parades............

This weekend is Memorial Day or formerly Decoration Day.  A day for all of us to recognize those soldiers who have gone to war for ALL of us to keep us safe in the Home of the Brave.  Many have given the ultimate sacrifice;their life, to protect and serve their country.  We owe them a debt that can never be repaid.  However, honoring them and what they did is what this weekend is all about.  Many service men and women weren't honored as they returned from a place called Vietnam.  How tragic that their country wouldn't honor their service like any other.  They too swore to protect and serve their country.  It is not their fault that things turned out the way they did.  They went with honor and returned a victim of politics.
I pray that one day soon, this country will see the need for God back in our culture;he's been gone too long.

This is a very powerful video which I found on FB.  I just had to share.

Here is the photo I used as my inspiration for today's challenge.  I used the Landscape Silhouettes stamp set from Sweet N Sassy stamps.  I stamped in black then used daubers and sponged the colors into the background.  I used a 3/4" circle cut again to make the moon which was used as a mask to cover that area while I sponged.  After the moon was uncovered, I sponged it a bit to make it look like the clouds were passing in front of it.

This is the card that I made for Queen For The Day Challenge.  This is a new single stamp called Blended Bloom from the new catalog.  Love this flower and have been experimenting with it.

This card was made for Ways To Use It Challenge where you had to build a stamped image.  You had to layer something.  I layered this beautiful flower then embossed behind it with my new Daisy embossing folder by Darice.

Today was a beautiful day here in Ohio.  God gave me such a wonderful, quiet time today.  When I finished my Bible reading, I watched the birds at the feeder and a baby squirrel.  The baby squirrel kept running to a small tree to sit in a branch, then he'd come down and grab seeds to eat from the ground.  He also explored the area and I saw him sitting on the edge of the screened in porch with the screening between him and me.

Annabelle also saw the little creature and natural instincts had her run to the screen.  By the time she got there of course, the little squirrel was back on his branch.  Then Annabelle sat watching the squirrel who once again came up to the ledge and didn't see her.  He moved, she moved, and hit her head on the post, and the squirrel was once again in the tree.  Poor Annabelle, it was hard to make it look like she meant to do that like cats will sometimes do. :)

Tim was funny to watch.  When he saw the baby squirrel, he went to the bird feeder and took out some seed and threw it closer to the tree that the squirrel was in.  I told him he didn't need to do that, the little guy knew where to get his meals. LOL

Tim has worked on the pool the last few days.  We had to get a new heater which needed some new connections, so Tim's been working to get it hooked up.  He hopes to turn it on Sunday so we can swim Monday.  He works so hard for us and I so appreciate it.  I'm so glad God has given him to me.

Blessing of the Day:Time with Tim and God.
thanks for stopping by.
Blessings to you and yours,
