Today is a day with so much love and heartache. It is a day to remember those that we love who have died serving their country, those who served their country and those who are serving their country.
Today we spent the day with Tim's Dad who served during the Korean war. He said he was drafted and served two years. Most of that time he spent working in a kitchen feeding 100 or more men three meals a day. My father-in-law said what he saw of Germany was beautiful. He said he visited Dachau before coming home and said, words could not describe what he felt when he saw the gas chambers, the ovens and the living areas. He said he'll never forget the way he felt and what he saw as long as he lives. It was horrifying to be standing where so many millions of innocent people were killed because of who they were.
So thank you to all who served like my dad, uncle, father-in-law, nephew. All in my family served and came home. We were fortunate in that way. God bless all who have served. We are forever grateful for your unselfish actions.
Here are some cards I made by heat embossing with white embossing powder then sponging distress ink over the flowers.
This is a card I made for the Sunday Featured Stamper Challenge. I chose this card as my inspiration.
This is the other card I made with the left over pieces from the first card.
Blessing of the Day: Spending time with my father-in-law.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
This is a place where I can share my love of family, stamping and the Lord.
