Class, Cards, Kids

What a busy week! Monday I held my stamping class. We had 6 ladies here laughing and stamping. The core group has been together almost 2 years. We've recently added three more ladies who have fit right into the group.
This was the first card. I showed them how to take an 8 1/2" x 11" paper and stamp around the edge. Then cut that paper into fourths and add a sentiment.

This card was faux pressed flowers. The flowers were added to the card then put through the Big Shot in an embossing folder. The flowers became pressed with the flowers of the embossing folder.

This card was making a frame on your A2 card, then adding a sentiment.

This card was stamped then masked and foam brayers were used to color the sky and water. We cut out the square and popped it up on dimensionals to make it stand out.

This large purse was made with two sheets of card stock. I cut and scored this project for the ladies. It was a nice size that could fit an assortment of gifts. Thanks Sam Pootles for the idea.

Monday I swam in the pool after Ben and the kids went home. I love having the kids here, but it's also nice to have "a piece of quiet".  That's what Ben called it when he was little.  I was sitting alone in a chair and he said, "Mommy, do you need a piece of quiet?"  He knew what I needed, so he climbed up in my lap, put his head on me and hugged me. We rocked and got a piece of quiet together!

Wednesday I had my 3 year old and 7 year old granddaughters for the day. Ben and Rachel ended up working the same time so I offered to take the girls. It was nice because the 7 year old was at summer camp from 9-12. I had the 3 year old and we were able to do things together.

I had her wash the plastic picnic dishes we'd use for lunch. She played happily in the soap and water until I suggested we wipe the table. What fun, grandma! She got to see what happens when water with soap drips down to the floor.  Lots of bubbles and she called the water falling, a waterfall.  We made a frozen yogurt pie for lunch. What fun licking the spatula, yogurt containers, the whipped cream container and the bowl we mixed it all in.

She loves to make cards so we made a card for Ben and one for Rachel. I have markers that have brushes on the end that she uses.

We picked up the 7 year old from camp and all had a picnic on the floor of our back porch. It's screened in so it was perfect with no bugs or bees. They tend to put a damper on picnics.

While the 3 year old napped, the 7 year old and I planted seeds, and made a frozen yogurt pie. The 3 year old helped me make a pie for lunch. Yum!

After her nap, we all worked on these. I couldn't believe the 3 year old could do this. With my help, she made two different shapes. She got frustrated a couple of times and we used it as a learning moment. Grandma acted like a 3 year old and we talked about what I should do. Fun times working things out.
Perler Beads Assorted Small and Large Pegboards for Kid's Crafts, 6 pcs1000 Multi-Mix Perler Beads
I was exhausted when they left after dinner. Thursday I just laid around. It was all I could do to stay awake. LOL

This was for the Technique Lovers Challenge this week. We were to blend colors together.
To mix colors I chose 3 colors from my color coach with granny apple green as my first choice. I folded my baby wipe and put drops of all 3 colors on it. I dabbed the wipe all over the card stock. I let it dry then stamped the image and added the sentiment. I added the twine to give it a bit of wood look.

Here is the inspiration for my card for today's challenge.
POM POM LLAMA 2.jpg
I stamped the llama and added terracotta behind him. I added burlap ribbon. The brads in the flowers go through the ribbon and card and are fastened on the back of the image. I stamped the birch background stamp to match the texture of the llama.

This is for a double challenge today. Jeanne challenged us to use a sky or sun on our card. Polly challenged us to use bubble wrap.
I stamped with stazon black ink and colored the sky carefully with B00 Copic marker. I used SU watercolor pencils to color the scene. (brown, olive, balmy blue, flirty flamingo and daffodil)
I stamped the bubble wrap on the dsp then layered the image and dsp on black. Fun challenges ladies!

Here is a song by Chris Tomlin called, Praise Him Forever. That's why we were created.

Blessing of the Day: Tim helped Ben with a situation. I'm so glad he's able to talk to Ben and Ben asks for counsel.
Tim finished painting our bedroom.  Next comes the wainscoting.

Thanks for stopping  by.
Blessings,
