This is the beautiful card we made courtesy of my friend, Louise. It is a card in an envelope. It's pretty easy once you've done one. I think the prettiest thing is the gorgeous frame for our sentiment and the butterfly.
I love the details Louise adds to her cards.
This is the card Dottie had us make. The leaves looked watercolored for her sample. We actually used sponge daubers to add the color. We used Tim Holtz distress inks. We had a fun time together making each other's cards.
With the baseball games and football games, I've been able to work on my baby afghan. I love to do ripple afghans because they remind me of my Grandma Mary. She always had a crochet hook in her hand with yarn.
This is my mom's mom. She taught me how to crochet. She made every one in the family, some kind of afghan.
When she began making afghans she had to buy kits. Yarn wasn't sold like it is today. She would have gone crazy now trying to pick out colors of yarn to use!
This sweet afghan will go to Laura's Home for a baby. Laura's Home is a place for battered women and children. They go through programs there to have job skills so they can begin to support themselves and their kids. It is part of a great Christian Ministry here in Cleveland.
This is for the Inspiration Challenge. This was my inspiration.I changed the layout to horizontal. I changed the ink color but kept it monochromatic. Instead of a lot of pines, I made one. I made a row of trees behind the pine. The trees appear over the moon. I used silver thread instead of ribbon. I kept a nighttime setting.
I stamped the pine tree and placed my circle on the paper. I sponged around the circle and to the ground. I sponged behind the tree but left the right side of the tree white or with a slight touch of ink. I removed the mask for the moon, then stamped off once then stamped the trees. The thread was added and the sentiment with dimensionals. The image panel was added to the silver paper, then added to the navy card base.
Verse of the Day:1 John 4:12
This is a new song to me by Austin French called, Why God? Give it a listen. We're allowed to question God. We're allowed to get angry with Him. He knows our pain, he understands.
Blessing of the Day: The kids came to dinner tonight. Then we had a camp fire in the back yard with Ben's fire ring. We made s'mores, drank hot chocolate or coffee and were mesmerized by the movement of the fire. The little girls ran around getting energy out and had lots of fun doing it. I loved hearing their belly laughing as they chased one another. Zoey chased Kaelynn with a huge pine cone only to find that they were sticky! LOL
Thank you for stopping by.
Blessings,
