The Simple Woman's Daybook for October 31, 2019

For Today Thursday, October 31, 2019

This is where it all began

Looking out my window it is a cold, windy Halloween night. It brings back memories of different Halloweens in my past. I remember dressing in winter clothes to trick or treat. No one could see your costume, but you got candy anyway.  Some nights it was cold and rainy outside, but you still tromped through the puddles to get your candy. Fun memories.....

I am thinking that I got a lot done today. I have planned 3 of 4 projects for my next stamping class. I have samples for several as well as measurements. Now I have to fill in my project planner for all of them.

I am thankful that Tim and I got to sit outside on the patio this morning with coffee. It was 61 degrees and breezy. Looks like it's going to stay cold and possibly snow for November 1st.

One of my favorite things snuggling up in a chair with a blanket and a good book.

I am creating an afghan for a boy right now. I've been working on it during the World Series.  I finished a few more scarves to be donated.

I am wearing slippers, socks, jeans and a t-shirt. No long sleeves yet.

I am reading In Places Hidden by Tracie Peterson. It's a Christian mystery.

I am hoping to finish all of my projects for my stamping class, tomorrow.

I am learning that it is hard to let kids be on their own and call or come over when they want to.

In my kitchen it is dark but smells of hot cider that I just made in a mug.

In the school room I'm beginning to research how to sign up for Medicare. I can't believe it's ME I'm talking about here. Where did that time go?

In my garden I've removed a few strawberry plants and re-potted them. I want to see if they will grow inside. It is a mystery that I want to try out and share with my granddaughters.

This is for the color and sketch challenges this week. The color challenge was to use, coastal cabana, blueberry, and blueberry bushel. The sketch was three items in a row.

I stamped the images and punched them out with the punch. I lined the tree edges with gold wink of stella. The red paper helped to show off the trees. I used the basket weave embossing folder. I added the gold ribbon to the edges with glue dots. I attached the trees with dimensionals. All of this was mounted on the plaid paper.
Many of the supplies for this card were given to me by a friend. I found a tutorial here on SCS for this type of card.
Once paper was folded I unfolded it and placed the card stock in the center for the greeting. When I folded the card back up, I added a belly band to keep it closed. This is a little different than the video. I love the idea of a card in an envelope.

A moment from my day.  I was getting ready to fold laundry and found Miss Chloe on top of the warm clothes from the dryer. I guess I'll have to go get a cup of coffee instead of finishing laundry!

Verse of the Day: Romans 2:1

Blessing of the Day: Tim got to see his dad for breakfast this morning. He got more work done in the small bathroom. He's using wood to make the walls straight. I don't think there was a straight wall in this house before Tim worked on it.
I got to sit on the patio with Tim and coffee. It was a nice warm morning.

Thank you for stopping by.
Blessings,

I just loved visiting your blog, it kind of felt like stopping by a friends house for late afternoon tea and a little conversation. I will surely return for another visit soon.
