66 years ago yesterday, my mom and dad were married. I only wish Dad was around to celebrate it. It's funny how through the years, May 1st has always been a special date in my mind. This morning I'd been thinking about this then get a text from my twin, reminding us what day this was. My other sister sent us a picture to make it even more special.
Love seeing these pictures of my parents so young and so happy. It helps make the connect that, they too were just like us; a young couple in love. A love that was true but taken away too soon.
I love your mom and dad. You are so missed, Dad.
Here are 5 cards I've finished that will go to health care workers. These images are from Whimsy Stamps. They are free digital images. I downloaded and printed on white paper then colored and added to cards.
This card was for Wednesday's sketch challenge from Splitcoaststampers. I turned the sketch on its side. I love the chickens from Gerda Steiner-chicken Scratch. I love the faces of these two images.
I stamped, colored and cut out the images. I turned the sketch on its side. I dry embossed the oval then layered the images. I layered the cardbase and added the vellum after it was heat embossed.
This card was for Thursday's, Ways to Use It challenge, on Splitcoaststampers. We were to use an umbrella. Ornate Style- for the flowers from Stampin' Up, Hero Arts-umbrella stamp, Art Impressions-Times Are Tough.
I stamped with daffodil delight ink on white and daffodil cardstock. I fussy cut the yellow panels and added them to the umbrella. I colored the umbrella with clear, Wink of Stella. I stamped the flowers in memento tuxedo black ink, colored them with copic markers, then added a drop of yellow Stickles to the center of each flower. I added the flowers to the umbrella. I stamped the sentiment, and added it to the card.
Songs of Hope from Christian Artists, Steven Curtis Chapman and other artists. This song is called, Together. Give it a listen. I hope it lifts your spirits.
King and Country with other artists sing this song, Together. We're not alone in this world. This is a great reminder.
Verse of the Day: Mark 12:30
Blessing of the Day: We had the BEST blueberry pancakes for dinner. Tim couldn't stop talking about how much he liked them. He kept saying, "I'll eat as many as you'll make."
We were able to sit outside for a short time with coffee.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
Bensarmom
