May 4, 2020

For Today, May 4, 2020

The Daybook started here.

Looking out my window, it is truly Spring with the arrival of Baltimore Orioles, and Hummingbirds in our garden.  For the orioles, you put out grape jelly as well as cut up oranges.  The hummingbird loves sugar water.
Early May is when these two begin to visit. It's so wonderful to watch God's creations do their thing. I'm thrilled that these things still give me excitement.

I am thinking, that I need to continue to encourage Tim. As he gets older, he's noticing things he can't do. He's currently working on the master bathroom to remodel it.

I am thankful for my friends and kids.  My doors where I post my cards are almost  filled.  I have a ribbon on 4 of the doors in the foyer and 1 in the laundry room.  When I walk by these areas, I can see all of the beautiful cards people have sent me. I begin in January and go until Thanksgiving.  Then I remove the cards and fill with Christmas cards I receive.
My son, Ben and I talk a couple of times a week on Zoom. It's so nice to be able to see him. Last night he worked 11-7. He wasn't on his floor. He was on another floor and was sitting with a baby who was several month old who had a trach in.  He said it seemed happy enough and slept all night. The baby began to get fussy at shift change.  Ben works at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.

One of my favorite things is to put jigsaw puzzles together. My step-daughter got 6-8 for us. They all have 1,000 pieces.  This Classic car show was difficult to do. Just about every piece had to be found on the drawing they give you in order to put it in the correct place.
Tim and I worked hard to finish this one.  I think we marked the box, BEWARE, difficult puzzle!

This puzzle was a bit easier, but not much!

I am creating scarves for next winter. I was given a lot of yarn by a few people, so I'm trying to make things that others can use. These scarves are quick and easy to make.

I am wearing a short sleeve shirt, (I was 70 degrees today!) jeans, tennis shoes and socks.  Tim and I enjoyed our time in the back porch.
We also had dinner on the back porch. It was the first time for this year.

I am re-watching, Downton Abbey.  With all of the TV series having to stop filming, there aren't shows to watch. So I am watching shows from You Tube TV.

I am hoping that my mom likes this card.  This dinosaur is a free digital image from Whimsy Stamps. I've added googly eyes with eyelashes and Wink of Stella on the TP.  The dragon is on a spring so she moves back and forth. I printed the sentiment from my computer.

I am learning to be patient and wait on God's timing.

In my kitchen all is quiet except for the sound of the dishwasher, washing yet another load of dishes. Without going out to eat, we're running this thing more than ever before!

In the school room, I continue to get a kick out of this guy and his videos.

In my garden  I love this time of year when the plants wake from their slumber.  Today in the garden, Lilies of the Valley are blooming. I'm so excited, since last year they didn't bloom. I love the scent. These were flowers my mom had in her garden, which bring such wonderful memories.

Everything is growing and beginning to blossom. The cherry blossoms will burst forth in another couple of days. We have one pink and one white flowered trees.

The poppies are growing as well as the strawberries.

A moment from my day. Here is the inspiration for my nail polish card.

This card was made for the Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoaststampers today. The stamp set is called, Mani Stamps by Honeybee Stamps. I took glimmer paper and colored it with alcohol markers to match the hearts in the background paper.

Verse of the Day:Ephesians 5:1-2
Ephesians 5:1-2 | God quotes verses, Biblical verses ...

Here's a song by Lauren Daigle called, Rescue.

You know how I said, May 1st was always remembered because of my parent's anniversary? Well May 4th, is known for a very sad event here in Ohio.

Kent State massacre in photos
The Kent State shootings, were the shootings on May 4, 1970, of unarmed college students by the Ohio National Guard at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, during a mass protest against the bombing in neutral Cambodia by United States military forces.

In this time of uncertainty and stress, it is a must to connect to God throughout your day. It can be done by reading your Bible, reading a daily text, listening to a preacher, or reading a daily email.  We need an incredible amount of strength to get through these times. I'm so glad that I have God on this journey with me.

Blessing of the Day: The weather was perfect! It was just above 70 today. We had lots of time sitting outside enjoying the weather.
We had dinner outside for the first time this year.
We saw God's handiwork every where we looked.

Thank you for stopping by.
Blessings,
Bensarmom
