Where Have I Been You Ask?

I've been working with my son, on a Stampin' Up Website! I have a logo and an address!  Check it out! https://www.suesstampinstudio.com/

Stampin' Up has their annual catalog live!  This catalog is full of lots of beautiful things. I am partial to the sunflower set. If you know me, you know I love sunflowers.

Our cats have been enjoying a tower to climb and sleep on and in.  In order to get them to check it out, I put catnip on each surface.  Check it out. Chloe is the one who really uses it a lot. She sleep on the top perch where Phoebe is in this picture.

On Splitcoaststampers, there was a technique called, stamping on tea bags. Check it out.
The hardest thing was carefully opening the tea bag once you'd waited for it to dry. The stamping was easy and fun to do.  I used a new embossing folder for the background here.
I used the Stamparatus to stamp the flower. I colored the flower with Copic Markers. I used Wink of stella on the flower. I dry embossed the background then layered the card. Lastly, I added the enamel dots in the Bumble Bee color.

I love the yellowing on this from the tea. You start with paper that already looks old and aged.  I used the flower color for my card base and added the greenery to it.
I stamped the french script on the tea bag using the Stamparatus. I stamped the leaves next. I attached the tea bag to vanilla cardstock. I attached that to the shaded spruce layer. I dry embossed the card base, then added the layers to it. I wrapped the ribbon around the green layer then added the sentiment and the gold pearls.
Here is the challenge for this month.
May 2020: Hostess/Barb

Scripture-Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Challenge: Make a project that showcases strength that you have received from your faith. Or, something that you are not strong at, but are working to be better! It could be an image, a technique, style of card—anything you want to highlight.
I made this card because some days it's so hard to be strong being at home. It makes me want to complain more which doesn't help things. So I'm working on being more positive. This is a great reminder.

I saw this idea on this blog:
I changed some of the things from Helen's card. I used purple for the main blouse, then accented with white. I punched two holes in the buttons and used the floss threader to put white bakers twin through each button. I braided the white bakers twine for the PJ cord. My two media are copic markers for coloring the buttons, and ink from the digital image.

Our challenge was to use a heart on our card. I had the tree stump, stamped on white cardstock. I cut a rectangle out next to the tree stump. I used a craft knife to cut around most of the heart, so it would look like a door. I stamped and colored the images with copic markers. I sponged the sky, then added the grass and colored behind the blades of grass. I cut the panda paws so they would lift and fit on the edge of the rectangle.

The challenge for clean and simple this week is to use paint. I stamped in memento tuxedo black ink, then colored the flowers with copic markers. I accented the darker areas with zig painting pens. I added the enamel dots and added panels to the left on the card base.

Here is my inspiration:
I kept the layout vertical with a window. I used different figures. I added curtains and acetate to the window. I dry embossed to make it look like a house. I used a word bubble instead of stamping on the background. I changed the theme of the card.

The color challenge was to use, balmy blue, blueberry bushel and lovely lipstick. I stamped and punched out a flower with each color. I used the leaf punches with granny apple green. I placed the lace on the cardstock, then added the flowers with dimensionals. Next I added the leaves and sentiment. Lastly I added the gems.

 Here is my inspiration:
When I saw this card, I immediately thought of my mouse in a pot.

I changed the orientation from vertical to horizontal. I used different colors and a different image and sentiment stamp. My layers were not slanted but straight. I used designer paper behind my image.
I stamped in black memento tuxedo black in and colored with Copic markers. I cut the image out with a tasteful label die. I fussy cut around the image with early espresso paper. I added dry embossing to the bumble bee layer. I cut the espresso circle out with tasteful label circle die. The bumble bee layer was punched with the 1 3/8" scallop circle punch. I added yellow Wink of Stella to the flower.

This is what I came up with borrowed designer series paper and a FREE digital image from Jessica Lynn Originals. It was free during their coffee blog hop. Jessica owns the store and is the artist as well. I wanted to support family business a month ago and purchased a gnome stamp set. When I saw this cute digital image, I had to have it.  I watched a video where Jessica showed how she drew this image and drew on it and added lines and shapes for his hat and robe.  I tried it, and had lots of fun.

Verse of the Day:James 1:21
Accept the word planted in you, which can save you. (James 1:21 ...

Here's a new song by Colton Dixon called, Can't Quit You. Give it a listen.
