More Friendly Seagulls

I'm having so much fun with this stamp set called, Friendly Seagulls. I love thinking of ways I can use them on cards that is a bit different.

I stamped on white ribbon with three different colors of inks to match the color challenge this card was made for. I found that the regular inks we have are okay, but have the possibility of spreading on the ribbon making the lettering more blurred.  When I used Stazon black ink which is a permanent ink, I didn't have that result. I got a clear, crisp sentiment.

When stamping on ribbon, you need to experiment with your inks to see what works best for the type of ribbon you are using.  Our ribbons are made with different types of materials.

I'd love to see if you've stamped on ribbon.

Blessings,

Sue

This card was made for the Splitcoaststampers
 Color Challenge this week.
The Challenge:Use these colors
CRUMB CAKE
LOST LAGOON
EARLY ESPRESSO

Dessert: Masculine
I stamped the seagulls with crumb cake ink and colored them with Copic Markers. I added Wink of Stella to their wings, beak and feet. I fussy cut them. I took some of the lost lagoon designer series paper and cut it into 1/2" strips and wove a 1" piece back and forth to form the pylons the birds are sitting on.
I used my blending brushes and torn paper to add lost lagoon and boho blue water behind the birds.  Check out the video on how to do this.

I stamped Happy Birthday on the white ribbon, cut it and added it to the mouth of two of the birds. You can see the last bird wasn't interested in holding a banner as she is eating french fries! LOL So, the banner is flapping in the breeze.

The stamp set is from Sale-a-Bration which runs through the end of this month and is called, Friendly Seagulls.  This set is FREE with a $60 purchase. This is one of my favorite sets right now.

The designer series paper used was Timeless Plaid.
