What's In A Color?

Hey Everybody, I'm back again with another color challenge. Have you ever done a card based on colors given to you?  Well try this. Our challenge can be found here.  Diane's colors for us were, Balmy Blue, Real Red and Blueberry Bushel. An extra challenge was to make it patriotic.

I stamped each set of flowers two times using a different color. The first time I stamped, I used the plain stamp which was stamped off one time. Next I used the detail stamp full strength. I did that for all three different flowers. Next I used two neutral inks for the flower centers. I used pebbled path and pecan pie.

I used my dies to cut the white image panel. Then I used the next die and cut just off of the fold so that my card is shaped like an arch. I used the smallest arch for my sentiment and turned it sideways. Under the sentiment is the red faux linen ribbon. I added a bow to compliment the red ribbon on the right. I added the metallic gems then colored the blueberry flowers with clear Wink of Stella.

Keywords: CC1058 Patriotic flowers
Stamps: Stampin' Up-Impressions Abloom
Paper: white, balmy blue, blueberry bushel
Paper Size: A2
Ink: blueberry bushel, real red, balmy blue, pecan pie, pebbled path
Accessories: SU real red faux linen ribbon, Jillian Vance Stitch Dot Arches Backdrop Dies, SU-Adhesive Back Metallic Gems, Bow Easy, Clear Wink of Stella, dimensionals

This is the first time I used the arches dies and I really liked it. I even tried using one sideways for the sentiment.  It gave the card a whole different look.

Think about stamps you have. What would you use for this challenge? Would you pull out a patriotic stamp?  Would you pull out a new stamp?  Would you pull out an old stamp. How about paper, would you use designer paper?  Step by step your card would come together with little decisions made along the way.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by today.  It's truly appreciated.
Blessings,
Sue

What a wonderful way to explore color with a patriotic twist! The way you layered the floral stamps with both stamped-off and full-strength ink gives the card such rich dimension, and those flower centers add a lovely touch of depth. The arched shape is so eye-catching—especially with that clever sideways sentiment! The red ribbon and Wink of Stella shimmer pull it all together beautifully. It's inspiring to see how thoughtful details and creative choices can transform a challenge into something truly special.
