Prairie Grass Sympathy

Jacqueline's challenge for us can be found here.

The old technique for this challenge I chose was Polished Stone. It can be found here. I wanted to make a sympathy card with a different look to it.
I made the background panel with the polished stone technique using old olive and night of navy re-inkers. Then I stamped the images in old olive and night of navy. The blue was stamped off to make them appear farther away. I colored white ribbon with my Wild Wheat Stampin' Write markers and added it to my card. I stamped my sentiment and punched out a small heart from my background piece to add to the sentiment panel. All of the white panels were added to night of navy panels. The background panel was added to a night of navy card base. Lastly, I added the dragonflies.

For me making masculine cards is sometimes difficult. Harder than that is making sympathy cards. Do you have that difficulty? I try to have some ready so it isn't as difficult. This card was going to  someone I don't know but it's still hard. I pray that the card will bring some comfort even though it's from someone they don't know.

When we make cards like this through Splitcoaststampers, we tell the recipient  who we are and how we came to make a card for them. They have a friend or loved one that has submitted their name. They are aware that cards will be sent from people who love to make cards to encourage others.

You know, we're all given gifts and talents by God. My gift has always been encouragement. Then God blessed me with cardmaking so I combined the two and encourage others with a card.

I've run two Card Ministries from my churches. I left those in good hands to be continued. Now I have three ministries that I donate cards to. I'm not in charge which is nice. I make the types of cards each needs, but I get to choose what stamps etc. I want to use. It's not like I've taken orders for specific cards. With that kind of freedom, it's still fun to make all sorts of cards.

What are your gifts? If you are not sure think about what brings you joy? What do you do that brings joy to others? Ask God to show you what He gifted you with.

Well, it's late and I have to get some sleep. Thanks for stopping by.

Blessings,

Sue
