What's a Chevron Gatefold You Ask?

 Hey Everybody,

Sabrina's challenge for us today can be found here.

I knew I wanted to use this new Painterly Pear designer series paper for my card. This pattern is just gorgeous! The paper really makes the card.
I added the strips of designer paper, then the folded pieces to form the chevron pattern. I added a flower from my stash and stamped my sentiments.

I used  the tab punch for my outside sentiment. I cut it in half and used daffodil delight paper with misty moonlight ink.

Keywords: TLC1063 Chevron Gatefold

Have you ever made a chevron card before? I remember making one with a good friend, Emily. Sometimes we get together to make cards and I always ask her if she needs to make a card or if she has seen something she wants to make.

Well, we had directions for this type of card. These directions weren't very good compared to the video that was shared here.  We worked and worked and finally Emily got it. We were so thrilled that we finally had a card made with this technique. It took quite a while and by the time we were done, Emily helped me line up my card because I had a headache.

I guess we should get points for sticking with it and having something to show for our trouble, but I sure didn't want to try to make another one like this any time soon! LOL

Have you had anything like this happen to you while you were making cards? It feels good to accomplish the goal, but not sure the headache was worth it.

Sometimes I've worked on a card and wasn't sure if I liked the direction it was going, or I couldn't decide what else to do with a card. So, I left it overnight to come back to when I was well rested and fresh.  Sometimes the card looks better than I remember and sometimes it doesn't. Usually I know what I can do to enhance it or fix it.

If I still can't decide what to do, I'll look online to see what other people have done with the stamp set or layout I've used. Sometimes I look up color combinations and change a color and that's all it needs.

Once in a while I'll show it to a friend and ask her opinion on what it needs. I love input from others. We all have different strengths and opinions about what we like.

Well, hopefully I've given you some ideas that you can use when a card isn't coming together the way you want it to. I hope you enjoyed your time here. I appreciate the visit.
Blessings,
Sue

Sue, the Painterly Pear paper truly steals the show—it’s like you bottled up summer warmth and patterned joy in one stunning card. The way you constructed the chevron gatefold adds such clever movement, and the daffodil delight against misty moonlight brings a burst of cheerful contrast. I really admire the persistence it took to master the technique, especially with Emily’s help during a headache! Your honesty about the crafting struggle makes this post so relatable—and your tips for reworking a card with fresh eyes are absolute gold.

Rockin' On
