Hey Everybody,
Today I have a challenge given by Nancy, that deals with North and South. The challenge can be found here.
I ran my Darice-Compass embossing folder through my machine then pulled my night of navy ink pad across the top to color the white cardstock. This technique with the ink pad is called, Direct To Paper.
I stamped the image from Close to My Heart, called, Seaside Greetings in memento tuxedo black ink then colored it with Copic Markers. I used my blending brush and boho blue to make the clouds using a cloud cut out. I used my yellow and brown blending brushes to color the sand.
I wrapped linen thread around the cardstock twice and knotted it.
The image panel was mounted using dimensionals. The sentiment is from an SU set called, Coffee With Friends.
Keywords: WT1066 lighthouse compass |
Stamps: SU-Coffee With Friends, Close To My Heart-Seaside Greetings |
Paper: white, night of navy |
Paper Size: A2 |
Ink: memento tuxedo black, night of navy, boho blue, so saffron, sahara sand |
Accessories: Darice-Compass embossing folder, Copic Markers, SU-linen thread, dimensionals, blending brushes, cloud pattern |
Techniques: dry embossing, coloring, direct to paper inking |
Some people did cards with the North Pole and Santa. I saw Northern Lights, Lighthouses and globes and world maps.
Do you have anything in your stash that would apply to this challenge?
I did a search to see what kinds of things would be listed as Southern.
"Southern" things include distinct foods like fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, sweet tea, and barbecue; cultural aspects such as Southern hospitality, porch sitting, and Friday night football; common phrases like "Bless Your Heart"; and certain environmental features like humidity, honeysuckle, and swamps.
Maybe that will help you come up with an idea for this challenge.
I forgot all about, Bless Your Heart. I think I have a stamp that says that. LOL
Well, now I feel like I want some chicken and biscuits and gravy. How about you?
Thanks for stopping by today.
Hope to see you again soon.
Blessings,
Sue
