Farewell to Summer Gathering

Today was one of the most fun we've had all summer. My kids invited a few friends to spend the afternoon and early evening having fun. They played in the pool for a while, and had a great time with the balloon launcher. Balloons were going into the trees in the woods behind our house. They were supposed to shoot them in the air and catch them. Once they found out how cool it looked to shoot them into the trees, they had contests for the highest, farthest, best shot without the balloon breaking, etc.
The kids played fooseball, air hockey, basketball and carpet ball in the basement. Have you ever played the game, Apples to Apples? It is one of the most fun games I've played in a long, long time. The kids played this and it was so much fun just listening to them. They also watched a dvd called, Facing the Giants. A great time was had by all.

I actually was sad to see the kids go. I love having this group of kids over. Everyone gets along so well.
School starts for two of them Monday. The three others went back last week.
I start back to work, Tuesday. Monday is my last day of summer vacation........sigh.......
