Double Play

Twice in one day I get to post things I've made! Wahoo what a great snow day! I did get some work done for work too. I got lesson plans done for next week. I also went outside twice to get the snow blower and clear the driveway and sidewalks around here. I'm tired! My DD and DS helped me clear the snow. DS used the snowblower for the first time and did pretty well. He only nailed his sister once with the spray from the snowblower. You should see our house and the neighbor's houses; snow quite high up! :-)
This is the cute, box Beate made a tutorial for this week. Thanks Beate! I took mine and made it into a purse. I used my heart lace punch to decorate the flap. DD, Sarah, had buttons and found a couple that worked perfectly together! (Thanks Sarah) I added brown ribbon for a handle and have a mini purse to put candy or tea packets into. I used Berry Bliss paper to cover the box. I also used small pieces of velcro to close this purse.

This is for the sketch challenge for today. I switched sides but I think it still works. I made another Changito shaking but made it a girl this time with lots of pink and sparkles. She has liquid applique with dazzling diamonds in it, then I heated it. I then added little beads to this and made it a shaker card. The frame around the shaker card has red line tape and beads on that. I used Berry Bliss dp to decorate the card. I also used the scallop circle, a 1 3/8 circle and a small flower from the pretties kit with a pink brad to hold it together.

I'm going to get a little reading in before turning in for the night. I was also thankful that DH got home safely with all the snow we had. Seems there's not much salt around here so they are plowing and we're sliding around.
Seems silly when Lake Erie sits atop the largest salt mine...........Oh well probably not the time to get into this conversation.
