A busy weekend, but Got Soooo Much Done!

Well, now that I've figured out I was so busy making cards for so many others, I forgot to make Valentine cards for friends and family who don't live here........oh my...........I've got to tell you though what I did make for others besides those baskets.
I held Card Ministry at church Friday night and we made 50 Easter cards, 15 Cards for shut-ins, 15 cards for baby girls, and 15 male sympathy cards.
I also made 35 Valentine cards for Pat's cause at a hospital in Michigan that treats kids with cancer. It was an amazing success. Pat asked stampers to help her make 1,000 cards. Can you believe how generous ladies were? There were 5,600 some cards! Talk about love! She had so many she was able to donate them to another hospital in the area. The doctors and caregivers signed cards and gave them to kids who had decorated boxes for their cards. Fun huh? All because one lady wanted to accomplish something. My praise it to Pat for seeing something so huge through to benefit so many. Thanks Pat. She also is going to do this for other holidays so I'm going to have to start cards for Easter soon.
Speaking of Easter, here are the designs for next month's cards for Card Ministry. We need to make 50 more. They will go to widows and widowers as well as people the church comes in contact with for deliveries.
I fell in love with this image when I saw it on Crafts etc.,
(UR1003 Resurrection Cross SKU #265793) It was on sale too! Anyway, I colored it on watercolor paper with my watercolor wonder crayons and my aqua painter. The edges are colored by applying eggplant ink directly to paper. The background is cuttlebugged. I used words from Our Daily Bread, I Am The Way, (http://www.ourdailybreaddesigns.com/stampsets.html) I fell in love with the font of these words. Anyway this is mounted on designer paper called, Bella Rose.
I couldn't decide which Cuttlebug background I liked best so I did one of each! Which do you like best?

This is Sam, our male cat who we almost lost to some unknown illness a month ago. Isn't he a gorgeous cat? He had zero for a red blood cell count and was on death's doorstep. The vet didn't know what was going on. We are sure that God heard our prayers because he's better than before. He's doing young cat things like chasing his tail, batting ice cubes across the floor, chasing his sister, and meowing like he used to. This picture was taken by Sarah who is getting very good with a camera.

This is a fry box I got at Hollo's in Bruswick. I used my heart wheel and real red ink to decorate it quickly. I added red ribbon and the scallop circle punch and the 1 3/8" circle punch to make the center decoration. These are cards that are going into a basket which will be raffled off during our Family Fitness Night to support the American Heart Association.

I wanted something a little different for a baby card. I used the cuttlebug for the dotted swiss background. Then I added designer paper from SU called Bella Rose. I then added rose ribbon between black ribbon. I love how it came out. Dimensionals are under the oval with the ribbon.

Isn't this changito monkey just the cutest? I got him from Crafts etc., on sale! (Changito Cocoa SKU #552372) Linda aka Studbo sent some stamped images to me when I commented on hers. Wasn't that sweet? Anyway I just HAD to have this little guy. So, I colored him with watercolor crayons and an aqua painter. I ran the pixie pink paper through the cuttlebug with the dotted swiss folder. I attached a package of cocoa inside so the recipient will have some warm memories enclosed!

These are vanilla scented candles that I used rub-ons, on which will go into one of 12 baskets I made for the raffle our school is having to benefit the American Heart Association. It was a quick and easy gift.

This is for Inspiration Challenge 167. My inspiration came from Mother Nature. Anyway, I got this darling little bird from Crafts, Etc. (Sparrow SKU #286369-also on sale) and had to watercolor it. I sooooo need spring to hit here in Ohio. Not that it will for 5 or 6 weeks. This little sparrow was watercolored with crayons and aqua painter. I cut out a large oval of white paper and colored it with a copic marker then edged it in navy ink dtp. I added this pretty ribbon and the lovely designer paper from SU as well. The bird is on a dimensional. What do you think?

Oh how I long for Spring, do you? We had a teaser day or two last week, and it was wonderful! This bird is helping me stay positive and wait patiently for spring. I will have tomorrow off at work for President's Day. Then I won't have days off until April for Easter vacation.
Today we had my SIL visit with her 6 and 3 year olds. What fun..........my 12 and 14 year olds each took a kid to the basement and entertained them while grownups talked in the family room.
Tomorrow is Ben's 14th birthday. Where has that time gone? Wow, next year is high school, and before I know it he'll be moving out......sniff....sniff....DH can't wait for the empty nest! I can wait! LOL
We're going to have a laid back day. Ben has an eye dr. appt to see if he can get contacts. His lenses in his glasses are thick and one keeps falling out of his frame. What a pain that is, so we're going to see if he can do contacts. We tried them a few years ago but his eye just didn't make it easy.
Sarah is now saying her lenses are thick and friends make fun of her so she can get contacts too.
I told her I'm on to her and maybe when she turns 14 and is responsible like her brother, she can get them too. She has 2 years to work on it! LOL
Well, it's finally time to get some fun stamping done, some reading of wonderful fiction and put my order together for SAB stuff. Can you believe I haven't ordered from the new catalog yet? GASP! I know, I can't believe it either!
Take care and thank you for stopping by. May you continue to bless those around you. May you encourage them with your smile, your warmth and your caring ways.
