So, I'm home from work tonight yet must go back out to a Thanksgiving dinner graciously hosted by a church that is our community partner for our school. I'm happy to be part of a school that reaches out to the community just like this church. We will enjoy a meal then be entertained by our school choir, then see a Squanto skit. What a wonderful way to blend the school and church activities. I'll let you know how it goes. Have to go get ready to eat turkey and mashies..........that's what DH calls mashed potatoes.
The dinner and program were wonderful! We were served an amazing amount of food. There's no way I could finish it all. Light and dark meat, mashed potatoes with gravy, dressing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and salad. There were also three kinds of pie. I didn't partake of the pie because I was taking pictures for the school. The way these people served was amazing. There were 8 servers who had plates. They came to your table and when everyone was there they served each person at the same time. It was fascinating to watch! There were several lines of servers like this. While a line was serving, another was waiting at the kitchen doorway to come out. There was even a woman at the table showing them where to come to and she had a headset on. I guess it's like wedding receptions nowadays.
We had a wonderful time, our choir sang about 8 songs then Squanto came out and told his story. I was ready to sleep when I got home. Thanks for checking in with me again.
This is a place where I can share my love of family, stamping and the Lord.
