A New Perspective

A New Perspective

The little cares that fretted me, I lost them yesterday
Among the fields above the sea,
Among the winds at play,
Among the lowing of the herds,
The rustling of the trees.
Among the singing of the birds,
The humming of the bees.
The foolish fears of what may happen,
I cast them all away
Among the clover-scented grass,
Among the husking of the corn
Where drowsy poppies nod,
Where ill thoughts die and good are born,
Out in the fields with God.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Nothing gives you perspective like going to volunteer somewhere. Last night 9 staff members from my school went to the Ronald McDonald House here in Cleveland. Look at this amazing donation from Staff, Students, and Families from Parma Park Elementary School, in Parma, OH!  Can you believe in these times we collected this about of things for their Wish List.  We also collected thousands of pop tabs which they recycle for money and  $1,000 for other needs they have.  We also donated over 300 handmade cards for their use. Check out the pictures and the link for Ronald McDonald Charities.
.
Once we set dinner up and residents were served, we too sat and ate with people living in the House.  What an incredible experience.  Listening to a mom of an autistic young man of 20 dealing with surgeries.  We also spoke to a mom and child who were facing unbelieveable circumstances.  The girl was born without hands and a leg from the thigh down.  She was also born with major facial bones missing.  She was there awaiting another facial surgery and was in such pain, you would have given anything to see her painfree and not crying.  This young girl colored beautiful pictures using no hands.  It was truly amazing to watch her do something she so loved.
We all went away with the feeling that there isn't anything we've been complaining about that compares to what we witnessed last night.  This was our building's third year doing this.  What a blessing they were to us.
I'm so thankful that I could participate in this.  thank you God for your hand in all of this.
bless you for stopping by.
