Busy Life What Can I Say?

I know it's been a while since I wrote. So much going on here and around the world. We had a horrible storm last night and a tornado warning was issued while I was out at the library. I had just dropped Ben at church then gone to the library when it started to pour down rain. DH called and told me to get home quickly. So I ran through the rain to the van and got to the driveway of the library and received another call from DH saying a tornado warning had been issued and that a funnel cloud had been seen in North Royalton. I quickly got back into the library and was soaked. I asked where their basement was and they told me there wasn't one. So I went to the lowest level they had to wait it out. I took some pics of the storm and the hail that fell as well.
Eventually all was well and I could come home. That was the first time I've ever been away from home when their was a tornado warning.
It's still raining in some places, but the sun peeked out for just a second or two.
Here's the hail that fell.  It was pretty good size.  I was taking these from the library so I couldn't put a coin there to show the size of the hail.

People in Missouri weren't so lucky. I'm praying for them as well. How do you get started again after something so devistating? God helps for sure, but how do you motivate yourself to go through things if there is anything to go through, then move on and rebuild?
I've been coloring some new images lately. I've also been doing some paper piecing. See what you think of these.  You may not notice this but her tutu has glitter on it.  I used iridescent ice on it. It really sparkles.
This is another one of Jane's stamps that she let me borrow.  I wanted to see how she'd look with the couch paper pieced.  So I took some SU paper and stamped the image on it then cut out the two couch pieces and glued them to the image. I then colored the girl with Copic markers and added ribbon and stickles in her bow.
This past weekend I worked hard outside with Tim and Sarah.  I weeded the garden Saturday after helping kids make 1100 subs to sell Sunday for their Peru trip. Sunday I shopped for some perennials and got 10 bags of mulch for the garden.  Tim placed the bags around the outside edge of the garden and Sarah and I spread the mulch.  I got a new garden flag of Irises and have a picture of my irises blooming in my garden.

Not bad for using my cell phone for these huh?
Today is my assistant Patti's birthday. I wasn't able to celebrate with her because I had to be at the eye doctors.  I saw on line that there wasn't a sub for me so I hope Patti wasn't too stressed out today.  Not a good way to spend your birthday. So Patti, I hope it was a great birthday and that Fred took you out to dinner.  You sure deserve it!

Wonderful photos and cards, Sue. I enjoy folks sharing these bits of life on their blogs. I'm glad you suffered no damage from the severe weather. I remember those thunder storms when we lived in Missouri, and the tornado watches, but I never had to endure an actual tornado. So frightening and devastating!
