Wacky Winter and Wonderful Job I Love

I'm still here living and breathing in Cleveland, Ohio!  I have been through a very stressful week getting ready for my education plan meetings Monday.  These education plans are paperwork demanded by the state which if done well take about 5 hours to complete because you have a lot of written information about each student. Most of them are 16 pages or more. How they learn, where they are functioning in each subject and where you'd like them to be in a year.  There are also certain ways they have to be written.  As in all state and federal directives, they keep changing and demanding more and more.  Wish we could do less paperwork and spend more time teaching so student scores could improve more!  Okay now off my soapbox.......

I got to do a little bit of stamping for an SCS challenge.  Take a look.  The challenge was to use denim in your card.  I had an old Judikins jeans stamp that I used and cut the pocket so this little guy could pop out and surprise you.  I need to find some googly eyes for him.  I also used some jewels to color the pocket.  This was a nice distraction from my paperwork.
Check out this amazing video to show how our armed forces are  celebrated during a college half-time show.  Thanks Karen for this.

I have two dear friends who are expecting a grandchild any minute now.  I pray that God continues to watch over the mom's and gives them a happy healthy girl and boy.  What a treasure our children are.
Tonight at dinner we were reminising with our kids about things they did when they were little.  What a fun time of laughing and bonding.  I love what God has done with our kids and our relationship with them.

After my trip to Dayton with Tim, I got a bit of time to stamp this little guy.  Isn't he the cutest?  The cupcakes were used stamps I bought at the garage sale there.  The bear is from an Inky Antics stamp set.  I added iridescent ice to the cupcakes to make them sparkle.  I also sponged clouds for the sky and brown for the ground.  Sponging can do so much for a card.
The fun thing was I was able to find a stamp set for belated birthday greetings.  I truly didn't have any so it was something I NEEDED! LOL
I have a few pictures of things that have gone on here the last two weeks.......It's been a very interesting winter.  The first is Sam licking snow.  He's NEVER been in snow so he was walking in it tasting it and enjoying it.

Here he's looking at the snow and enjoying WARM feet~LOL
Just yesterday we had high winds and Annabelle is watching the blinds go  back and forth and rip apart.
Here's what she's watching.  Just Thursday we were eating out on the screened in porch and forgot to roll up the blinds..............
On Leap Year Day it was so warm that we were outside and so was this cute bunny.  They are cute until they begin to eat my flowers.
Here's the amyrillis that Patti gave to me.  We thought Tim killed it with too much water but not so. Here it is in its beauty and splendor.

Well it's time to do more school work.  Who says teachers don't earn their pay?  They  never shadowed a teacher for a day did they?  I won't get back on my soapbox.  For the most part I LOVE my job.  How many people say that nowadays?
Thanks for your visit.  I hope to be around more often once all this paperwork is done!  Thank you God for bringing me through all of this.
Blessings to you and yours,

I do appreciate teachers and all that they do! My dad taught elementary school, three of his brothers were teachers, and now my sister teaches kindergarten. So I've heard all of those unbelievable stories.

My kids are on spring break this coming week. Then we've got the time change - AND they start the state assessment tests after they get back. Nothing like having the kids miss a week of instruction before the "assessment." They've had my kids doing cheers for the "assessment" for weeks. So much pressure is put on the kids and the teachers. And in the meantime, they teach to the test and miss important concepts.

I actually called our state's "bureau of assessment" last spring and asked WHY they "test" the kids right at the time change. My kids already can't sleep because of test anxiety. Then the time change really puts them over the edge. I just tell my kids to do their best -- and it's not graded. They'll still move onto the next grade.

Okay, off my soapbox! Thanks for listening : )
