Hope Comes Through God and Music

I've had another bad week with students trying to get used to school and us here at Parma Park.  But God is faithful because he allows Patti and I to serve Him in the bad times as well as the good.  We're sure things will get better, but for now we're in a 'valley' at work.  Listen to the song God sent my way tonight.  It brings tears to my eyes to see how much God loves me and answers prayers.  Take a listen to this song by Mark Schultz called All Things Possible.

Today I got paid for babysitting most of the morning.  I have a student that isn't really supposed to be with me because of his ability level.  It is much lower than the rest of the students in my case load.  We went outside today for Bus Safety.  He had to be carried onto the bus, then when we got off he sat on the ground by the building.  When we ignored his yelling for attention, he took off his shoes and socks. I spent 45 minutes outside with him until the psychologist got him to stand and we walked him in.  We're not allowed to pick up kids that have dropped to the floor or ground.  We have to find a way to coax them back to where they need to be.  This guy is little enough he could be carried by someone back into the building but we're not allowed to do that.
I got him to play a game working on taking turns, then it was time to read a story.  I told him in a few minutes we'd read a story.  When it came time to do that he didn't want to do that, he wanted to play the game.  So I spent another 45 minutes trying to keep him in my classroom and making a forced choice to do this activity.  Oh my, no wonder by the time 3:55 comes around I'm exhausted!  We don't have air conditioning, so imagine working in 90 degree heat with windows open and a fan going.  You're dripping wet by 10 a.m. and need to apply deodorant again by noon, yet even if you do, you still smell from the sweat that your shirt is absorbing as sweat rolls down your body.  YUCK!!
We got to the point where we just told each other we know we all smell, like goes on. LOL!
So instead of putting him where he can be BEST served, he's in my classroom because it is the school closest to his home.  I wonder sometimes what happens to those who run the show here.  We're supposed to do what's best for the kids, and we fail miserably sometimes and the child, the rest of the general ed. students and the teachers pay for it.

Tomorrow is a day of in-service for our new reading series.  So it's a day of listening to a lecture, but at least it's air conditioned where I'm going! :)

Can you see what God is bringing to me in my time of troubles?
This brought tears to my eyes as I thought of my dad again.  He's been gone 29 years.
Something funny to help me through my day!  Hope you like it too.  Hope to have some cards tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by tonight.
Blessing of the Day:God helped Patti and I have a better day today than yesterday.
Blessings,

I saw a sample of these cards when a friend gave me cards for Southwest Hospital this month. Thank you Louise for sharing this idea with me....
