I really love doing what I do. This group is amazing. I have three students and one assistant. One of the students needs a 1-1 assistant.
I saw a few former students here as well. One of them is a first grader this year and he's the super star in his classroom. I loved seeing him interact and 'get' things that were just beginning to come at the end of the school year. So proud and happy for him!
I have two more, four day weeks and I'm done with that. Then I have 4 days at the board office and I'm done, officially retired! Hard to believe.
Yesterday I swam with Sarah and found it to be so much fun. I'm thrilled she's swimming again and she asked me if I'd join her! I take advantage of these times, believe you me!
I made a card for today's challenge. Take a look:
Here is the bead that was my inspiration for the card.
Thursday I spent the evening with my dear friend Val. It was very hot and sticky so when she came over I asked if she'd like to swim. She had thought ahead and brought her suit! I knew she didn't have her pool any longer and might enjoy time in the pool. So glad we did that. It was a truly blessed evening! Thnk you God for bringing us together. She is the kind of friend where you can pick up where you left off, it's truly a blessing. We talked and floated in the pool for a couple of hours. We looked like prunes when we got out but were so relaxed and happy.
Tim came home and said his boss quit after 9 years. His boss is starting a car wash business so he will do that full time. Interestingly his boss set up this company on company time of the place he was working.....not sure that's right, but that's what happened.
Tim's Happy and hoping that the person to take over is the one person who has been put in charge for the interim until they find someone. He thinks they will keep this guy if he does a good job.
Heard from Ben, they went to the beach yesterday which was a mix of rocks and sand. They didn't notice the tide rising and they had to scurry to get the things on the beach they's left. Unfortunately one camera was lost and some of their electronics were a little wonky. I'm hoping it's not Ben's phone. We just got that phone for him. Talked to Ben it was his phone which now is sitting in a bag of rice.................
Amanda got sunburned. I know they had sunscreen and thought they knew that they were closer to the equator. Teenagers......................gotta love them.
I made some cards today. These cards were made to try out my new stamp set. I used tangerine ink and pistachio paper and ribbon. This new SU ribbon is fun to use. It is ruffled and elastic! I found that for the two-step stamping I really liked stamping off for the first flower then stamping full strength for the second image stamped.
This card was made using old SU designer paper. I am trying to use more paper to use it up. It's amazing how quickly paper can accumulate ya know? I used a quarter doily and stamped it with tangerine ink.I remember seeing it years ago and came across it on youtube tonight and had to watch it again.
I got outside once the thunderstorms stopped and weeded in the garden and deadheaded most of the flowers. Whew, what a lot of work. We got some bushes so while I was busy in the garden in back, Tim was putting bushes in the front. Work is never done when you own a home ya know?
We got to skype with Ben and Rachel today. That was a blessing! They sound good. They love the kids at the orphanage and are enjoying their time so far.
Blessing of the Day:Talking to Ben and Rachel
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings and Hugs,
