The Simple Woman's Daybook

The Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY October 20, 2013

Outside My Window...it is dark and cool. It is definitely fall here in Ohio.

I am thinking...that it is still weird being at home during the day.  I haven't gotten bored yet!

I am thankful for...Tim who works so hard to do things around here and keep us where we need to be financially.  We just refinanced our house and will save lots of money which is great now that my monthly salary is less.

From the kitchen...all is quiet except the Kuerig which is making my chocolate, raspberry coffee.

I am wearing...P.J.'s.

I am creating...cards from odds and ends that I made at Jane's Saturday.  I was trying out her new stamps, die cuts and punches.  That's the hardest thing to do, stamp at someone else's house, unless you bring a project to do.

I am going...move some things in the bedroom to get ready for the new bed we're getting.

I am reading...Matthew West's book, Forgiveness.

I am hoping...that I can get back to eating healthy and walking and biking in the basement.

I am hearing...the sound of grinding of trees by a truck nearby and the ticking of my grandfather's mantle clock.

Around the house...all is quiet as it usually is at night.

One of my favorite things...is stamping late at night when 'you're in the zone'.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:continuing to organize my stamping room, going through files in filing cabinets, and cleaning out the office closet. (I will stamp some too.)

Here are some pictures I thought were worth sharing...

You know how in your family you can make fun of someone or give someone a hard time, but if anyone outside the family tried that you'd be all over them?  Well this picture is like that. LOL  I saw this on FB earlier today and laughed as it is funny and sadly true.  We do need a better QB for our Browns.

This is a fun card I made using the starburst technique.
One thing I love to do is sponge a background. Here's my card which will be joining 29 others for women with cancer. It's a challenge on SCS called Hope You Can Cling To.  It's at the top, right of my blog.
This card was using a quilt technique and adding the special center for a great bling factor.
I've been transferring files from one computer to my laptop and this is one of the pictures I found.  Isn't she sweet?
This may be hard to see what this is.  The far left is the spine of the box.  The object is a large stamp case for wood mount stamps.  I added designer paper and most of the items I'd need to stamp at another person's house.  It's a stamping kit.  I used this at Jane's and it made stamping away from home so much easier.  Everything was in one place, instead of a pocket here or there in my bag.
While on FB I found this and laughed out loud.  It is an application for the Y.
How did you hear about the YMCA?  The answer made me laugh out loud. Hope you enjoy it too.
Blessing of the Day:I got so much done around here.  I got to talk to Ben.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
