I got to see what the life of a teen was like this morning. I went to bed at 3 a.m. and woke at 11:30 a.m. I haven't slept that late in a long, long time. I know, you can tell I'm retired with those kind of hours.
We've been busy here going through files, shelves, and boxes and organizing. Of course with the move of files to the basement came lots of files to go through. You know, you file things then forget that now you have 10 years of things in that file and lots of other files!
Next you divide that pile into things to be shredded and things to be recycled. Usually the pile to shred it by far bigger so you shred until the shredder gets hot. Then you take the other stuff to the recycle container in your home. I finally got wise and put a garbage bag into my shredder. Now it shreds into the bag. When it gets full I just remove the bag! No muss, not fuss.
I got some cleaning done and some laundry. I checked the number of garbage bags for pick up tomorrow and found 7. The garbage men know when we've been busy cleaning out things. Usually we have 2 bags and recycling. LOL
Tim and I went out to look for a new bed. He wants a king size bed. I don't, but what are you going to do. We got a bed and mattress ordered and should have them next Tuesday. We're moving our bed into Ben's old room, which will be a guest room.
I did get to make cards tonight. This card was for a challenge where you had to ink up an acrylic block then stamp on the block with a stamp. Then stamp with the block. I called it kissing acrylic. :)
This card was made for another challenge where Elivs and rock and roll were the inspiration. I don't like Elivs so I chose to make a card with the rock-n-roll technique! Now that's thinking outside the box for sure!
This challenge you needed to use a punch or die cut and use the positive and negative to make a card. In other words, use the item you cut out and the item that was cut out.
I saw this on FB from Renee Swope-A Confident Heart and just had to share.
This is the view a friend and her husband had from their Cancun hotel. I was there years ago and it still looks as gorgeous as it did when I went. I couldn't get over the clear, blue water.
This is a picture a soldier who is using the cards that have been sent from Operation Write Home. I've been sending cards regularly to them. Who knows, maybe some of my cards are in those boxes which are sent around the world anywhere there are soldiers.
Blessing of the Day: I got time to read.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
