Weird Day.....

Today was a weird day.  It began with me being awakened by hearing a text someone sent me at 5:15a.m..  My phone recharges on my nightstand each night.  It was a text from Tim which I thought, "Why is he texting me from work at 5:15 a.m.?"  Now I had been up until 1 a.m. making cards.  So I'm going on very little sleep.  I got downstairs and see Tim sitting in the chair and ask him why he's still there. He panics for a second then says, "It's Monday right?" "I'm supposed to be here.  I have to go to work. I leave at 5:40."  (In my frazzled mind, I'm thinking, that makes sense but why get up a half-hour earlier to sit for a half-hour?  I'd be asleep as long as possible!  I turned around and went back to bed...........5:15 a.m. is just too early for ANYONE to be awake!

So I try to go back to sleep and guess what?  I can't!  I tried and tried, but no good.  I finally got up and got a cup of my raspberry chocolate coffee and sat at the laptop looking for the card challenges of the day. (Sorry Hope)

I got some things done then started to droop.  I thought it was too early for a nap, so I ran some errands thinking that would wake me up.  It did, so I got some cleaning done when I came home.
I got tired again and decided to give in and take a 30 minute nap thinking that would get me through the day. When that alarm went off a half-hour later I wasn't ready at all to get up but did thinking that I needed to start chili so it would be ready for dinner................

I made it to 8:00 p.m. and finally gave in and went to bed. I can't remember the last time I went to bed at 8 p.m.  Even that was weird.  I woke up 4 times during the night.  The last one was at 3:30 a.m. and when I walked past Sarah's room she was still up!  She said she wasn't tired since she'd slept until 12:30 p.m.  I told her to give sleep a try.

Today, Tuesday our new bed is due to arrive.  Over the weekend Tim moved our bed frame to Ben's old room and we slept with mattress on the floor which was an interesting thing.  Our bed frame raised the bed up so I have to climb up or use the little bench Tim got me when I had my hip surgery.

I did manage to make a few cards yesterday.  This card was for the Hope You Can Cling To challenge which was to make a card with something clear in it.   I chose to make a shaker card and make a snowman.  The card also had to reflect caring.  I loved this stamp.
This was a really fun card to make.  I've never made one before.  It's called a flip down card stack card.  Here are the directions for it.  Now that I've made one, I'd like to try another one. It looks so difficult until you've made one.  The video tutorial really helped me.  This is the front.

This is the card opened up.
This was for another Hope You Can Cling To challenge.  You were to make a card reflecting someone special in your life.  The person I wanted to honor was my Grandfather. He really helped make Christmases special as he got older. He was always happy to eat a home cooked meal and comment about it. He also could be silly and full of fun. While opening presents one year this 96 year old put a bow from his present on his nose and posed for everyone. That's one of my favorite special Christmas memories. My Grandfather and I had a friend/friend relationship which was wonderful. I got to see a side of him no one else saw. That was one of the best gifts he could have ever given to me.

As today  begins we'll see what it has to bring. In about a month Ben and Rachel will be here to visit.

Here's the perfect song for today.

Blessing of the Day:I got things done in spite of my tiredness.
Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
