Happy Winter Solstice

We're already at the shortest day and longest night of the year! Now the days will begin to get longer! Starting Friday, the sun will be up for a few seconds longer each day, signaling the start of our slow but steady march toward spring.

Here is my card for today. The mixed media challenge was to make something holiday with cool or warm colors. I chose cool colors and added some greenery to make it Christmas like. I used copic markers, Stampin' Up markers, watercolor pencils and a blender pen to color the image. I used daubers to sponge the sky and ground.
This is the challenge for yesterday. The challenge was to color something and use at least two different mediums. I used copic markers and watercolor pencils. This is a new set that will be available January 3rd.

Sweet Sarah Annie helped me take handmade afghans, hats and scarves to Laura's Home today. Laura's Home is a ministry run by The City Mission. It helps moms and their children get back on their feet after coming from an abusing relationship, after drug rehab, if they are homeless and need skills to get a job. It's an amazing place. They train women to be self-supporting. They help them write a resume and acquire job skills. They watch the kids while the moms go to work or look for work. It's a pretty amazing place.

Now my cabinet upstairs is empty. So, it's that time to begin making afghans again. I was happy to see the different kinds of afghans I'd made over the year.

I found this cute gif  on SCS somewhere. I had to include it today so I'd be able to  find these cute images again. Memory isn't as good as it once was.

Blessing of the Day: I got to see Sarah Annie today. Ben stopped by in time for dinner, so we got to see him as well. It's always great when the kids drop by. I love it.

Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,

Hello Sue,

Just wanted to wish you and your family a blessed Christmas and to thank you for remembering me with the adorable Christmas card (it came in the mail a few days ago while I was away from home visiting my Mother).... just love those sweet animals you stamped and colored looking up toward the glittering silver star! I greatly enjoy your uplifting blog posts; you have a wonderful way of sharing your life as you tell your readers about our Lord and Savior! May the Lord richly bless you and your family in 2018 and beyond!
