Father's Day 2020

Father's Dad is a bittersweet day for me. I celebrate the Father Tim has been to our kids. I also miss my dad terribly. I miss him daily, but this day it's worse. There are so many things I never got to share with him. I know one day, we'll meet again. Until then, I'll continue to have this hole in my heart.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my dad. My mom has this on her nightstand at the nursing home. He died when he was 57 years old. It's been decades, but the hurt never goes away. I longed to have him meet my husband, and kids. He would have been an amazing grandfather! That didn't happen which makes the loss seem greater to me. It has to be God's way. I can question His ways, but He knows what's best.

This is a technique called, double embossing. It can be found here.

I used versamark ink on the dandelions then sprinkled different colored embossing powder over it, then heated. The background was made by using my SU stencil (mask) and adding distress glaze over it. Then I sprinkled embossing powder over that and heated. The glaze when heated bubbles a bit like glue would. It gives your image a more textured look.

This is the inspiration for my beach card. This was yesterday's challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

I stamped the sun, then the dark blue water. Next I stamped off twice to stamp the lighter water. I sponged the sky and sand. I added plants and sand dots then the sentiment. I used Wink of Stella on the water to make the reflection more realistic.

This is Steven Curtis Chapman and his father. Steven has made a beautiful video with his new song called, That's My Dad. Give is a listen.

Verse of the Day:Romans 5:19

Blessing of the Day: I'm thankful for Tim and the father he is to our kids. We've gone through so much together. I'm thankful that God put us together. We've had 26 1/2 years from God. We have three kids who are loved beyond words.

I'm thankful for air conditioning with temps in the mid 90's today.

Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings,
