A Whirlwind Kind of Day!

So what do you call a day where you just run, run, run? I feel like it's been a whirlwind around here and it's not over yet.
Got up and did the usual routine then got kids to the bank and library. They divide their allowance into bank, church, spend now and spend later envelopes. The spend later is one where they must save up to buy something that they want. We want our kids to be responsible with money and figure if they do it now, they'll know how to put money in the bank for emergencies and big ticket items like a car or college.
We are reading books for the summer reading program through our local library so today was the day they turned in their game boards and exchanged them for tickets for a drawing and for books. Each could pick out two or three books. Guess how long it takes to look at 60 book choices? Then I had to read the backs of the books to see if they were okay for them to read................oh my I can't believe what people write for teens to read! We WON'T go there!
Next we were home for lunch then off to pick up DD's friend for a sleep-over.
Then it's time for DS's friend to arrive so we stand talking to that family for 30 minutes or so.
Next DD and friend went swimming so I'm sitting out there writing RAK's and watching them in the pool.
By now it's time to get dinner started. So I start dinner for DH and I while kids eat the pizza DH has brought home.
After dinner DS and friend swim, so I sit and read at the pool and holler at the kids in the pool.
Next kids go to church with DH and I get to visit with MY friend and we decide what type of cards to make for the Card Ministry Friday.
Then I pick up kids from church and take DS's friend home which is a 15 minute drive. DS's friend's mom isn't home so we sit and wait for her.
I'm now home with cards unfinished on my table, DD and friend(who is staying over)are blowing up the air mattress, and I'm finally sitting down to get MY time.
I did get to stamp some time in there and here's what I made.
This is for SC184. I used pomegranate for the images and celery and artichoke for the stem and leaves. I used Holiday Thyme paper and ran the top part through the bubble Cuttlebug on the reverse side so the circles would be indented. The bottom piece was run through the crimper. I used pomegranate ribbon between the two pieces of paper. The small squares are 1 1/4 and 1 3/8" square punches. I used perfect layers for the tulip square. Black brads were used for the spots of the ladybug.

This is from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. I watched her video and made these. I know they are supposed to be candy purses, but we don't have candy in the house. Yikes, did I just admit that?! How embarrassing is that? Anyway, I used Summer Picnic and bashful blue papers with the oval coluzzle. I used the largest oval for bashful blue and the next oval in for the patterned paper. I stamped in artichoke the flower from Priceless on white cardstock. I used the scallop punch for the outside of the flowers. I used my white signo gel pen to make lines on the bashful blue edge of the purse. The handles are bashful blue and artichoke ribbon. The purses are held closed with a small piece of velcro.

I think I'm going to see what I can do to finish those cards for the Card Ministry. Maybe I can hide from kids for an hour or so. You know how it is when a friend is over, they get to stay up later.
Tomorrow should be an easier day. Let's hope so.
Thanks for dropping by to see what we've been up to. I'm praising God for all the activities we had going on today. It assures me I'm alive, that my kids are liked and that we're not bored with our summer vacation. God is so good to us.
Hugs and Prayers for stopping by.
