Today's Card: Getting more from your dies. Here's my card for today's challenge on SCS. I cut fun foam using dies that didn't have stamps, then used adhesive on the fun foam. I inked the fun foam and stamped with it. Here is my card showing cut out images and new stamped images from fun foam. The first image is new fun foam images created. The second image is the card I made combining both sets of stamps.
I stamped and added cut out images as well. The crumb cake layer is dry embossed with the High Seas 3 D embossing folder. This was all layered onto night of navy card base.
This is the inspiration for my card above.
I used my heat tool and heated the plastic sheet which shrunk, rolled up then unrolled and lay flat when finished. This is what they look like now. I'm going to see how I want to use these on cards.
I pulled up across from the driveway and was half-way up the drive when this sweet 6 year old girl came walking toward me with two, big, red, plastic glasses of lemonade. Her mom told her to wait, I hadn't even told her why I was there.
I said, "How did you know I wanted two glasses of lemonade?" "And how did you know I wanted pink lemonade instead of regular lemonade?" I asked her how much I owed her and she said, "One dollar, they're 50 cents each." Her sign said 25 cents, but her mom explained that there were smaller cups there that were 25 cents, the red cups were 50 cents.
I love the fact that little girl chose the large glass to sell, she's quite a salesperson. I gave her a dollar and asked if I could give her a few coins extra. She took them with a smile. She had a friend with her who was silent the whole time. I asked him if he was helping and he said yes. So I gave him a few coins as well.
Now this little girl had made the sale and do you know what she did next? She said, "Do you need help to your car with these two glasses of lemonade?"
I was blown away by her question and complemented her and her mom on the kind of kid she was at 6. She helped me to the end of the driveway where I took the two cups.
She said, "Be careful not to spill those in your car." Then she waved and said, good-bye and thank you.
You know, God is amazing how he blesses us when we think we're blessing someone else. What I learned from a 6 year old today was amazing.
Verse of the Day: James 3:9-10
Here's a new song by Danny Gokey called, Undertow. Give it a listen.
Blessings of the Day: Sarah brought lunch for Tim and I. It was fun to catch up with her. She and I spent time in the pool catching up as well. It was a great time.
Ben, Rachel, Brianna and girls came to dinner and swimming tonight. Ben brought crockpot chicken, potatoes and carrots. We added more chicken and instant dinner. I made strawberry shortcake for everyone after they swam. Fun times with family.
I met an amazing 6 year old today who showed me that there are kids around with a work ethic even at 6 years old. They have great manners and are appreciative of what they are given! What a blessing she was to me today.
Thank you for stopping by today.
Blessings,
