An Emotional Day

It's early Monday morning and I'm just finishing creating a card for two friends who will come over tomorrow. We are each making a card to swap with the others. I love doing this. I get to see the style of my friends which is different than mine.
I participated in the Splitcoaststampers Rock and Roll Challenges last weekend. There were 15 challenges. This card was chosen as a winner. I am getting stamping goodies from one of the hostesses of this challenge. Such fun!
Our challenge was to use colors of our birthstone which was tanzanite, turquoise, topaz or zircon. So I made my card with purple and a turquoise blue. The background I made used the double stenciling technique.
Here is the tutorial I used to do my double stenciling background.
I stenciled the background the spritzed it with water. I stenciled a few places when the card stock was wet. I colored a guitar and added purple to the back of the image. I stamped a sentiment and punched it out. The sentiment and image were added with dimensionals. I wrapped silver cord around the stenciled layer to look like guitar strings.
Chrissy gave us an image and told us to use it to inspire us to make a card. I used similar colors. I inked my glossy card stock then used a sponge to stencil circles onto my base. I used my Stamparatus to stamp my images using versafine onyx black ink. Then I used a dauber to sponge around the edges.
I couldn't resist this stamp set when I saw the many cards made with it. I used Stampin' Up's new watercolor paper. It is the BEST! I love how easy it is to us watercolors on this. I used Peerless watercolors and an aqua painter.
I added a medium daisy to each card. I have yet to add the sentiments but will as I need them.
The designer series papers I used were the Brights Collection. It's a 6" x 6" pad of paper with the same designs but in different colors. I've never purchased these before, but saw them used by anothr demonstrator and loved them!

These are the 4 cards I made with Louise at her house last week. We alternate months and make 4 cards for the other one to make. It's wonderful sharing card ideas. Louise doesn't have others to stamp with. I'm hoping she will make friends with the ladies in class and get together to stamp with them.

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 16:28

Here is a song by Hillsong called, Who You Say I Am.  This is the song that made me cry tears of happiness.

Blessing of the Day: I got to hear my son, Ben preach today. He is such a dynamic speaker! He always hits home with me when he preaches. I've been having trouble reading my Bible each day and spending time in the word. He spoke to that and how we need to work hard at knowing Jesus. It is like any other relationship in that we need to work at spending time together.
Praising God for giving Ben the gifts he has.  Also praising God for Rachel and the beautiful voice she has been given. She led a song of praise today that made me cry I was so happy.

Tim and I were watching videos of the kids when they were tiny. Ben was 22 months and Sarah was a newborn. Brianna was 8.  Oh my, how much you forget, and how much you remember like it was yesterday!  This is just what I needed tonight. I love watching videos of our kids and looking at pictures. They are so special to me that I have several mugs with the pictures of the kids when they were little all over them.

Thank you for stopping by.
Blessings,
