Checking Out Another Gallery For Card Ideas

 Hey Everybody,

Julie chose Gail's gallery today. Check out Julie's challenge here.

The card that I chose from Gail's gallery was this one.

I changed the orientation, stamp and colors. What drew me to her card was the image inside the circle.

I stamped the mouse with Memento tuxedo black ink then colored it with Copic Markers. I used my tree ring hybrid folder and embossed my cardstock. Then I cut out a hole for the mouse to be seen. I used direct to paper inking technique with pecan pie on the dry embossed cardstock. I die cut leaves, acorns and an acorn and added them to the doorway. Instead of hello, for a sentiment, I made a home sweet home sign for above the doorway. I used ribbon like Gail did, horizontally across part not all of my card front. The ribbon was white and colored with a Copic Marker to match the card base. I only used one layer not multiple like Gail. The crumb cake panel was added to a coastal cabana card base.

I used dies again for this card. Woohoo! I like doing these challenges because it gives me a chance to use retired items so they don't just sit around.

Do you have items in your stash that have just been sitting around? I do too. What do you do so you use them? Sometimes when I'm going through things while doing a card, I see things that I haven't used in a while so I pull it out and put it on my table or on the tray next to my desk. That way, I don't forget it and I can use it in the next day or so.

I have to say it makes me feel good to use what I have.

Do you ever buy things to craft with then put them away to be used later and then don't use them? I am guilty of that for sure. However, now what I do is put new things in a small crate next to my desk. That way when I am going to stamp, or plan a card for a class, I check here first.

Once I've used a set for class, it goes into my current Stampin' Up files for regular use. I know that we all have busy lives and sometimes forget things. It's hard to spend money then not use the things we buy.  I'm sure you probably have other ideas of how to use things you buy.  Let me know what you do in the comments.

Until tomorrow.

Blessings,

Sue
