What a Ride............

    I've written that Ben's been sick. Well yesterday we found out why. He has menigitis the viral kind not the bacteria kind. We went to the dr yesterday afternoon and right from there they sent him to the ER. He also has shingles. Fortunately the shingles are in a small area and only itch. Ben's on very strong antibiotics and fluids to keep him hydrated. He's eating regular food but still not very hungry. That should improve as he feels better. It was so hard to watch them give him a spinal tap, and get blood from all sorts of places. He said he felt like a pin cushion. It was hard not to push away the dr. giving him the spinal or the woman taking blood that just couldn't find a good vein. He seems to be doing better. No fever and the headache is down to a 4 instead of 8 or 9 on a scale of 0-10. He and I made the best of the wait in the ER once the spinal was over. We were both so tired we were slap happy. It sure made the time pass more quickly. I left him around 12:30 so he could sleep. They moved him about 4 a.m. to the unit he needed to be in. Guess what? He's the only kid under 18 in the area he's in and he has his OWN nurse! Yup, she's awsome!
