Mini Card Camp Winter 2021

Today I was invited by a friend named, Barb to join this little group of stampers for their challenge each day.

Day 1 Challenge-These are the supplies you will need.  Various scraps or pieces of cardstock.  You can use a rainbow of colors—or various shades of one or two colors.  The pieces need to be as long or wide as your card-and will be cut in strips.  You will also need a word die—a large one if possible and a stamp that is a strip sentiment-one line of words or a single word. Then basics, adhesive, card base, die cut machine, ink, etc.

So basically put stripes of different designer series paper across your cardstock.
Cut out a large sentiment with a die.
Add a small line sentiment to go with your die word.

These are Barb's samples.
Check out Barb's blog for the complete directions.

Here is my Card for Barb's challenge.  I cut different width strips of Sand & Sea designer series papers.
I put the strips diagonally, then added my die cut sentiment on an angle also. My die is from, My Favorite Things and is called, Twice The Hugs.

The sentiment strip is from a Lawn Fawn set called, Simply Sentiment.
I put black cardstock behind the sentiment and paper strip layer.  I added black embellishments from Your Next Stamps called Your Next Stamp Gumdrops. They are glitter dots that are slightly raised.

Darlene's Challenge- So...My idea was to watercolor a landscape with sky, earth and lake.  Then create silhouettes of trees using SU's timeless classic "Lovely as a Tree" set.
Check out Darlene's Blog for the complete directions.

Here's Darlene's Card-

Here's my card for her challenge.
I started with Stampin' Up Shimmer Paper. It is a smooth paper that can take watercoloring. I used my Stamparatus and Stazon Black ink to make the first set of trees.  Then I put a piece of acetate into the Stamparatus and stamped again with black ink. I picked up the acetate and placed it on the shimmer cardstock and pressed down and rubbed the images. I put a piece of paper down to rub on it so it wouldn't move.
I used Peerless Watercolors to color my background. I painted behind the trees at the top, then painted the reflection a bit lighter. I used an aqua painter as my brush.

I'm off to these blogs to make comments.
Thanks for taking time to stop by.
Blessings,
Bensarmom

WOW OH WOW!!!
Sue, these cards are just fantastic!
I really like how you went diagonally with the strips for the first card, and your color scheme is very pretty.
The Reflection Card is stunning! I love the colors and blending on the background and I would say, without a doubt, that you MASTERED the reflection! I need to take another shot at it using your technique.

Thanks for playing along with us!
