Stamping For Others

Hey Everybody,

Today's card is for something on Splitcoaststampers called, Tuesday Teapot Challenge. These challenges are designed to bring cards from us to those who could use some encouragement. Here's our challenge this week.

CHALLENGE

Pam says, " My husband will turn 86 on July 29th. He has had a rough few months with a bad cut to his arm in February (18 stitches in the operating room) and 9 days in the hospital with pneumonia in March-April followed by a month of PT. He's doing better now but I think he would be tickled to get some cards for his birthday. His favorite color is blue and he loves sports, especially baseball, golf and football. Our family doesn't usually send cards although I remember everyone's celebratory occasions with a card.

Okay sports fans, here's your change to make a birthday card for Grant that features one of his favorite sports. Let's cheer Grant up with some birthday cards!

CARD TYPE/THEME: Happy Birthday!

I stamped with Stazon black ink and colored the bunny with watercolor pencils. I used a blender pen to spread the pencil colors. I die cut the image panel and the panel behind with SU Textured Notes Dies. I shortened each panel not needing the length but the width that the larger dies gave me. I wrapped linen thread around the image panel then attached it to the designer paper panel with dimensionals. The background piece was stenciled then the sentiment was stamped on it with early espresso ink. The panels were added to an early espresso cardbase.

Keywords: MMTPT887
Stamps: House Mouse-Great Catch, SU Happy Birthday
Paper: white, early espresso, old SU scrapbook paper
Paper Size: A2
Ink: Stazon black ink, early espresso, sweet sorbet, petal pink
Accessories: SU and Derwent Watercolor pencils, Lawn Fawn-paint splatters stencil, SU Linen Thread, blender pen
Techniques: stenciling, water coloring, die cutting

Do you like to watercolor? I do, but it's not something I do a lot. There are different ways to watercolor images. Using watercolor pencils is just one way.  I would love to take a class in how to watercolor. I know it's just like any other skill, you need to practice and have a good teacher.

If you have ideas of people who you think are good teachers of watercolor, please let me know.

As usual, I'm thankful you've stopped by today.  I'll see you tomorrow.
Blessings,
Sue
